- Laying Down The Snare: The snare is also a crucial component when you make your own rap beat. The snare usually compliments the kick so make sure you can’t hear it more than you hear the kick. The snare’s role in the beat is basically to be in the background providing a good backbeat.
- Laying Down The Bassline: When you make your own rap beat you are also going to need a bassline. The perfect bassline can be easily heard but it shouldn’t be heard over the rest of the beat. A rap beat without a bassline doesn’t sound right so you definitely need to lay it down properly.
- Laying Down The Chords: A good rap beat always has a chord instrument playing. You can use the piano or guitar it’s all up to you. You can lay down as many chords as you feel necessary but don’t over do it or you will make your beat sound complicated.
